Local foods

The quality of the local produce is excellent.  Fish can be caught in the local lochs and the sea.  Lobsters, langoustines and hand dived scallops can be bought locally.

 BBQ lobster

Delicious Beef and lamb brought up on the lush Argyll grass, can be bought from the village shop or at the Sunday farmers market.  A Barbecue is available for cooking outdoors. The village shop / post office is very well stocked with a wide selection of foods as well as drinks and wines.

Local eating places

If you dont want to cook, Ardfern has two good eating places:

The Galley of Lorne which is the local pub and restaurant which is open all year round.

Alternatively during the tourist season the Crafty Kitchen, which is a gift shop/cafe serves fantastic mouth watering food.  Although it does not have a drinks license, you can take your own bottle.  You have to try the Scallops from Islay - absolutely heaven!

Further afield is the restaurant at Craobh Haven (3 miles) or the Kilmartin Hotel (6 miles).

Alternatively, meals can be prepared locally and delivered to the cottage.
