There are several lochs near Ardfern that hold trout.  Permits can be bought from local stores.

 

      

 

The village is also within 10 miles of Loch Awe - home of some spectacular Trout, Salmon and Pike.  Permits can be bought at Ford and at Fyne Tackle.  Local rivers and burns can also hold good specimens of sea trout (above). The best place for a good range of fishing tackle, permits as well as expert advice on a variety of fishing in the area is available at Fyne Tackle  in Lochgilphead - they also offer guided fishing trips at Loch Awe.
