There are several lochs near Ardfern that hold trout.  Permits can be bought from local stores.

The village is also within 10 miles of Loch Awe - home of some spectacular Trout, Salmon and Pike.  Permits can be bought at Ford.  Local rivers and burns can also hold good specimens of sea trout (above) - permits for the River Add can be obtained at Lochgilphead.
