There are so many things to do in this part of the world.

If you are in to formal gardens, Arduaine is only 4 miles up the road. Information on other gardens of Argyll can be accessed here.

There is an Arts and Crafts Festival in the summer - end of July to early August 2009.  Many local artists open their studios to the public including Susan Berry.

You could cycle along the tow path of the Crinan canal or those more adventurous may want to explore the numerous cycle paths / tracks provided by the Forestry Commission.

Day trips to the islands including Islay, Jura and Mull are all possible departing either from Kennacraig or Oban.

If it is wet outside for too long there is always the Indoor sports centres and swimming pools at Lochgilphead and at Oban.

Pony trecking and horse riding can be organised over the hill from Ardfern towards Lunga estate.

Golfers can play at Oban, Lochgilphead, Inverary or the world famous Machrihanish or Loch Lomond courses.

There is the Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary at Oban.

The nearest large sandy beach is at Crinan Ferry but there are numerous gently shelving pebbly/shingle bays within walking distance. It is also well worth the drive along Loch Sween to Kilmory Bay.
