The village has a permanent population of around 200 which is swelled substantially in the summer months.  It has a hall in which shows and concerts are presented.  It has a great village shop, pub, restaurant and cafe.

 

Many Sundays between May and October there is a Sunday Market outside the Galley of Lorne Inn selling local produce.

 

There is an Arts festival around the end of July/beginning of August.
